International quality management award for Liverpool John Moores University


A european quality management body has awarded a key honour to Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU).

The European Foundation for Quality Management chose LJMU ahead of 17 other finalists for the ‘building partnerships’ category.

Its assessor team praised its structured approach, range of partnerships and additional value generated, saying: “LJMU recognises that partnerships are crucial to future success in terms of attracting students, securing additional income streams and enhancing their reputation both within the UK and on the international market place.

“Their World of Work (WoW) Scheme and the Collaborative Partnership Handbook are only two examples of strong, innovative partnership building actions.”

Paul Evans, LJMU director of business excellence, said: “This prestigious prize demonstrates the work we have put into building partnerships to benefit our students and business and industry.”

Terry Dray, LJMU director of graduate advancement and employer engagement, added: “The WoW programme is co- designed and co-delivered with employer partners across all sectors and as a result this unique LJMU employability model has added real world relevance.”
