NW firms invited to join Latin America trade mission
Businesses across the North West are invited to join a trade mission to Latin America.
UK Trade & Investment (UKTI), together with the Northwest Development Agency, has organised a trip to cities in three countries aimed at three separate sectors.
The two-week mission in November and December will take in San Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, in Brazil; Santiago de Chile, in Chile; and Buenos Aires, in Argentina, between November 19 and December 3.
Interest is invited from firms in sectors covering advanced engineering, aerospace, automotive, education and training, healthcare, ICT, infrastructure, life sciences, machinery, security and sports projects.
Delegates will be able to access in-depth market research and help with identifying contacts appropriate to their business, via the Overseas Market Introduction Service, and a pre-organised group itinerary of briefings and appointments.
A UKTI market visit support grant is also available to help towards costs for eligible businesses visiting all three countries.
UKTI South America specialist Paul Eadie said: “Brazil, Argentina and Chile offer some fantastic opportunities for North West businesses.
“Brazil is the fifth largest country in the world, with a population of around 185m. It has one of the most rapidly developing economies and a GDP per head greater than either India or China.
“Chile is recognised as the best managed economy in South America, and has enjoyed steady growth. It has long been open to foreign investment, and the UK is the fourth-largest investor in Chile.
“Meanwhile, the market in Argentina grew by 7.5% last year.”
