World renowned artist collaborates with LFC
World Renowned Illustrator and Artist Phil Disley has collaborated with Liverpool Football Club’s Captain and England International Steven Gerrard, to produce a limited edition work of art based around the theme ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’.
'Gerrard Red-breast' is exclusively on sale through Liverpool football club as a limited edition print.
Phil had the idea of using player foot-prints as the basis for the image as it gives fans a unique and quirky piece of a LFC star. Phil explains:
“These illustrations offer a refreshing slant on a traditional portraiture of a football club legend. Literally letting the player’s feet do the talking!
“It gives fans a personal, intimate piece of a Liverpool Football Club icon.”
Throughout a twenty year career Phil has worked for numerous clients in many fields. At present his work can be seen in The FT’s ‘How To Spend It magazine’, GQ magazine, The Guardian comment and debate pages, The Independent opinion section, Building Architectural magazine and Decanter wine magazine. In addition, Phil regularly produces covers for The Tablet.
Phil's work is as often appreciated by his subjects as it is by editors and the general public. Collectors include David Cameron, Marco Pierre White, Andrew Rawnsley, Andy Murray and now Steven Gerrard.
The print is limited to 250 pieces and will be hand signed and individually numbered by the artist himself. The canvas is 46cm x 66cm,100% cotton and stretched over kiln-dried Scandinavian battens.
